Dairy Summit

Thank you to those who joined us at our Annual Illinois Dairy Summit hosted by Illinois Milk Producers Association and University of Illinois Dairy Extension. This year we were at Highland Community College in Freeport! Thank you to our attendees, speakers, panelists and sponsors for another successful event.

Dr. Phil Cardoso

Phil Cardoso is an associate professor of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he is conducting research and providing outreach programs in the area of dairy nutrition and reproduction. His experience with dairy farms in Brazil and the USA brings a different perspective and management skills that help him with discussions in class.

Dr. Derek Nolan

Derek T. Nolan is a Teaching Assistant Professor and Dairy Extension Specialist in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois. His area of specialty is in milk quality and decision economics. He has been part of the Southeast Quality Milk Initiative and has worked with dairy farmers to troubleshoot milk quality and mammary gland health issues.

Ben Buckner

Grains and dairy analyst Ben Buckner has been with AgResource since 2008. Ben specializes in grains market research, and has been in commodity markets analysis since 2005. He began his career with the research department at the Iowa Grain Company in 2007. Ben hails from from Nashvile, Tennessee. He graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky with a degree in economics.
